Team Green celebrates Buchan’s Cadwell podium
Riding his Ninja ZX-6R, Team Green Junior Superstock rider, Danny Buchan, has achieved one of his main goals for the season, a podium in his rookie year.
A strong showing in qualifying at the Cadwell Park event augured well for the Basildon born rider running under the MSS Colchester Kawasaki flag this season as one of three Team Green riders in the fiercely competitive series.
As a feeder class for full blown Supersports racing, the shop window element of Junior Superstock manifests itself in terms of fully subscribed grids and Buchan is working especially hard to push his way to the top. With what is recognised as being one of the best machines in the series at his disposal, Buchan has proved to be realistic about his ambitions and keen to thank those that have helped him so far.
"This time last year riding a ZX-6R as part of Team Green and getting help and advice from the official Kawasaki Superbike team in the UK was just a dream. I worked hard in winter testing and I just hope that this podium is the first of many to repay the faith that everyone has shown in me".
Hopes are high for even greater success as the season progresses, as Racing Coordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, Ross Burridge, explains.
"Danny joined Tom Fisher and Tim Hastings as part of a three pronged attack on the Junior Superstock series this year. As an initiative that encourages young talent as well as stressing the benefits of presentation in the paddock and a professional approach to racing, we are already seeing dividends in terms of interest in the Team Green racing concept. Danny is a bright young talent and we’d like to play a part in realising his true potential as a competitor on Kawasaki machinery."
