McAdoo’s Conor holds TT record

The 2010 Isle of Man TT was as exciting and eventful as any. As usual, the Kawasaki Motors UK official roads team, McAdoo Kawasaki, were in the thick of the action with rider Conor Cummins.

Local boy Cummins pushed the 130mph average lap barrier successfully at the 2009 TT so expectations were high at this year's event  - and he did not disappoint.

With the enthusiastic support of Kawasaki fans along the whole length of the 37 ¾ mile course – and a special cheer from the “Ramsey massive” – Conor raised the bar with a jaw dropping 5 laps over the 131mph average in both practice and during races.

Sadly only three of the laps are recorded officially, but even so, he still tops the 131mph chart ahead of McGuinness and Hutchinson, a great feat and some consolation after his Senior TT crash at the Verandah section of the mountain course.

Already talking about next year’s TT, Conor is characteristically stoic about his injuries as a result of his crash and grateful for the messages of support he has received according to Team Manager, Jason McAdoo.

“He’s a special rider and was knocking on the door of podiums or a win in both the Superstock and Senior TT. Of course he’s disappointed to have crashed, but his enthusiasm for racing and the TT is undiminished and, as a roads specialist, he is already thinking about breaking the lap record for the road to recovery!”
